Tracamyl acquires Geneye, the brand of Sample Homogenizer and other bench top devices for life sciences laboratories
ALMERE, THE NETHERLANDS, 23 November 2020 – Today, Tracamyl announced the acquisition of the brand Geneye from Biowire for an undisclosed amount.
The Geneye brand was launched in 2016 by Biowire, a company based in Hong Kong. Bertrand Coissac, Managing Director of Biowire comments:
“For the past several years, we have worked closely and with great success with NBS Scientific, a distribution company owned by Tracamyl. NBS Scientific’s market access to research laboratories, biobanks and life science companies will enable Geneye to grow beyond what we could have done at Biowire. I am enthusiastic that researchers around the world will gain better access to the very functional product range that Biowire developed.”
Frank Nooteboom, Managing Director Europe of NBS Scientific, the Tracamyl company that will commercialize the Geneye product range, comments:
“We are excited to expand our portfolio of solutions for sample preparation with the addition of Geneye’s product range that we have been distributing since 2018. With the acquisition, we will gain a better control of the supply chain of Geneye’s products, in particular the UPHO Sample Homogenizer. This will enable us to even better service our customer base in Europe and the United States.”
Gijsbert van der Gaag, CEO of Tracamyl, adds:
“This acquisition is a perfect fit in our product strategy of offering solutions for sample preservation and storage, distribution of laboratory research products, laboratory automation and sample handling equipment. The UPHO Sample Homogenizer is a unique device that delivers unparalleled performance while having a pleasant design and being exceptionally silent – an appreciable feature for such a powerful instrument.”
Tracamyl is focused on sample preservation and storage, distribution of laboratory research products, laboratory automation and sample handling equipment and the development of real estate assets through its companies: AFYS3G, diaago, Micronic, NBS Scientific and Tracamyl Holding.
