Bertrand, a French citizen, founded Asia Bio Channel Ltd (ABC Ltd.), now trading under the brand Biowire™, in 2011 to support international Life Sciences companies in developing and executing their go-to-market and channel strategies in the complex and highly competitive Asia-Pacific region. Since founding ABC Ltd, Bertrand has worked with more than 15 companies including manufacturers of research reagents, research lab equipment, molecular diagnostics kits and medical devices connecting them to revenue growth business opportunities in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle-East.

As ABC Ltd.’s business shifted from an Asia-Pacific focus to a global operation, the company was renamed Biowire and opened operations in Europe to deliver expert and flexible business development solutions in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA) to a broad range of Life Sciences companies seeking accelerated revenue growth in EMEA.

Prior to founding and leading ABC Ltd., Bertrand worked with Pall Corporation (now part of Danaher Corp.) establishing Pall as a key player in food safety and environmental monitoring by launching a disruptive molecular diagnostic platform in all major global markets.

Prior to Pall, Bertrand held sales positions with Genzyme, now Sanofi Genzyme, in Paris area, selling products to Nephrologists. Prior to Genzyme, Bertrand worked as a Research Assistant with Corixa Corporation, now part of GSK, in San Francisco.

Bertrand Coissac holds a Master in Sciences from the University of Strasbourg, an Engineer degree in Biotechnology from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Technologie des Biomolecules de Bordeaux, a Master in Marketing & Management from the top French business school ESSEC and an Executive MBA from both London Business School and Columbia Business School.

JACOB QIN, Ph.D. and Technology Visionary

Jacob, a Chinese citizen, joined Biowire in 2015 bringing 15 years of professional network and life sciences sales expertise in China to the group. As Biowire Business Director, Jacob is a key actor in Biowire development and provides our clients with solid insights on market trends and executes expedient go-to-market and channel strategy across Greater China.

Prior to joining Biowire, Jacob was a Product Manager at Perkin Elmer with responsibility for the marketing of their nucleic acid purification product lines in Greater China. Jacob led sustained and significant business growth from 2011 to 2015.

From 2008 to 2011, Jacob was the Marketing Manager China for Miltenyi Biotech, a German company developing and commercializing instruments and reagents to facilitate sample preparation. In this role, Jacob was responsible for implementing national marketing initiatives and building out their technical support structure.

Prior to this, Jacob was a Senior Scientist and Head of Research Lab at Sunway Bio for 3 years. Sunway Bio, a Chinese biotech company, develops and commercializes innovative gene therapies.

Jacob holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Shanghai Jiatong University and is the author of several pier-reviewed publications in leading journals focused on crop enhancement and bio-informatics.

Gaelle Quenette

Operation Director

Gaelle Quenette, a French citizen, joined Biowire in 2019 to support the rapid growth of our business globally. Gaelle carries responsibility for operational management, business development as well as the development of our client branding and product portfolio. Gaelle also holds responsibilities for the development of the Geneye business (

Gaelle brings onboard more than 15 years’ experience in Healthcare and Medical Devices in both mature and emerging markets, with Marketing, Operations and Finance experiences. Gaelle was lately a Project Director at Sanisphere, leading top pharma retail and digital consulting projects in South East Asia.  Gaelle previously held a variety of marketing leadership roles with Fresenius Kabi EMEA & Latin America and Fenwal Europe.

Prior to Fresenius and Fenwal, Gaelle started her career with Baxter bearing positions such as Regional Project manager and Business analyst.

Gaëlle holds a Master degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from ESCP Europe, and a Master degree in Management and Biotechnology from ESIEE Paris.

Byron Liu

Finance Director

Byron, a Hong Kong citizen, joined Biowire in 2019 to support our global business growth bringing more than 20 years as CFO, Financial controller and Tax experiences. Byron manages Biowire financial operations and reporting, and also leads the implementation of new corporate tools and guidelines. In addition, Byron is a key resource to support our business expansion projects being familiar with setting-up new entities in China,HK, Singapore & Taiwan.

Prior to joining Biowire, Byron worked with Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCooppers on M&A and IPO audits. Previously, Byron worked with PSD Group as a CFO based in Shanghai for China entity & Asia.

Byron started his career with Moody’s as a Financial Controller for Hong Kong, China, Taiwan & Singapore subsidiaries.

Byron is also a lecturer at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and the Open University of Hong Kong on Accounting and Information Systems. Byron holds a CPA from Hong Kong Institute Of Certified Public Accountants and CPA Autralia. He graduated his MBA from Manchester Business School.

Cindy Liu, a China citizen, drives our sales and marketing actions in China for research laboratories, hospital, pharma and CRO targeted products. Cindy brings on-board a solid experience of in technical sales, a great contact network and makes a huge contribution to team spirit that unites Biowire.

Prior to working with Biowire, Cindy held the position of Sales Manager with Hapstar, a major Chinese laboratory equipment manufacturer, who recruited Cindy based on her valuable experience as a Sales Specialist acquired with HuaAn Biotechnology, a significant Chinese antibody supplier.

Prior to Cindy’s 4 years with Hapstar and HuAn gaining experience is technical sales specialist and distribution management experience, Cindy was the Customer Service Supervisor & Product Manager at Boppard, a large distributor of lab reagents in greater China (representing principals such as Wako and Enzo).

Cindy obtained her Bachelor degree from the China University of Mining and Technology in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, with a major in Bio Engineering & Fermentation Engineering and is fluent in English.

Wenlei Qi, a Chinese citizen, joined the Biowire team in 2018 as Business Manager Northern China. Based in Beijing, Wenlei is managing our sales programs in the region.

Wenlei has more than 11 years of experience in positions such as technical support scientist, product specialist and sales manager with leading distributors in China targeting industrial customers. His activities included promoting products such as bioMérieux microbiological diagnostic instruments and consumables, Each-Reach mTOF and microfluidic PCR machines.

Wenlei obtained his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from the Southwest University, Mianyan, Sichuan Province.


Takashi Hara

Takashi brings more than 20 years of professional experience in life science. Prior to launching his own consulting company, Explorer Associates, Takashi had several sales & marketing roles at MBL, TaKaRa Bio and Carna Biosciences. His activities included development of sales channels targeting all segments of life sciences markets in Japan, USA and Korea.

Takashi lives in Kobe, speaks a fluent English and obtain his bachelor degree of agriculture from Shinshu University.

With over 30 years of experience in both IVD and industrial markets, Misun brings with her a proven track record of outstanding performance in innovative product introductions and Sales/Distribution channel Management. Prior joining Biowire, Misun held various Sales, Business Development and Marketing roles in global leading Life Sciences companies, including ThermoFisher Scientific and bioMérieux.

Misun speaks English fluently and graduated from Yonsei University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Takio brings 17 years’ experience in technical sales in the challenging market of Japan. Prior to leading Biosket, Takio held several sales management positions with Funakoshi, the #1 life sciences research products distributor in Japan. Through this experience, Takio built a strong network of biopharma companies and sub-dealers throughout the country and successfully led the launch of several new products.

Takio obtained his Master’s Degree from the University of Fisheries in Tokyo.

Dr Renaud Quantin
